Unfortunately due to the current Coronavirus outbreak this event has been postponed until further notice, Matt is continuing to train and is looking forward to taking part next year. We would like to say a big thank you for all of your support, words of encouragement and donations. We will keep you updated on Matt's progress!

When government guidelines allow the event, our Managing Director Matt Brooksbank, will be running a non-stop 190 mile ultra-marathon coast to coast across England from the west coast in the Lake district to the east coast finishing in Robin Hoods Bay. The race is called the Northern Traverse and follows Wainwrights coast to coast route.  More details about the event can be found on the race website:

All donations will go to Genesis Research Trust, which funds research to progress the understanding of miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm birth, and reproductive cancers, in order to reduce preventable baby loss.

Please take a look at the Genesis Research Trust website for more detail on what the work of the Trust:

Matt Brooksbank, SciQuip Managing Director said:

I’m looking forward to the event with both excitement and a little trepidation, it’s been over 20 years since I took part in a multi-day event such as this, when I was somewhat younger and more spritely.  I’ve been training hard through the winter despite a 3-week absence for a chest infection so fingers crossed I’ll be ready for what lies ahead in April.

I would be most grateful if through my pain and suffering during the event we could raise some money for a very worthwhile cause in the Genesis Research Trust, helping them to explore ways to reduce miscarriage, infant mortality and still birth.

Please give whatever you can however big or small every penny you raise will make a difference.
